Indigo Sports: Golf For Everyone, Making The Game Affordable & Accessible
INDIGO SPORTS is Troon’s newest brand. Part of its mission is to exemplify inclusion and diversity as the company aims to have the game reach anyone and everyone who wants to play, with a goal of affordability and accessibility. Here are several legacy Indigo Sports courses that are perfect for winter golf. Next issue we’ll feature eight additional facilities in more northern climes.
ALHAMBRA GOLF COURSE
Alhambra, Calif.
This course is fun, not frustratingly long or difficult, with facilities that are the best and most complete in the area. The course layout is a par 71 at 5,478 yards, with four par-5s, five par-3s and nine par-4s. Alhambra Golf Course offers a triple decker, lit driving range perfect for practice day or night.
BAYLANDS GOLF LINKS
Palo Alto, Calif
Founded in the mid-1950s, this scenic municipal course is operated by the City of Palo Alto as part of its Baylands Nature Preserve District, adjacent to the coastal land bordering San Francisco Bay. The San Francisquito Creek, a historic waterway, runs along the course and is a major flood conveyance stream.
THE RIDGE GOLF COURSE & EVENTS CENTER
Auburn, Calif.
The Ridge Golf Course & Events Center has a truly exciting layout, set in the golden foothills of the Sierra Nevada just a short drive from Sacramento. An artful sweep of stone and glass, tucked away in a corner of the foothills, the clubhouse sits atop a small ridge that overlooks groves of large oak trees sprawling between rolling hills and sparkling ponds.
BRENTWOOD GOLF COURSE
Jacksonville, Fla.
Originally designed by Donald Ross in 1923, Brentwood Golf Course has long been a local favorite. It was reopened in 2000 as a nine-hole course with a driving range under the direction of the First Tee. Brentwood is the best nine-hole golf course owned by the City of Jacksonville.
HISTORIC DUBSDREAD GOLF COURSE
Orlando, Fla.
This classic course has plenty of history as the former site of the Orlando Golf Open, hosting legends including Sam Snead, Ben Hogan, and Claude Harmon. Dubsdread is also on the Florida Historic Golf Trail which includes many historic golf courses built during the Golden Age of golf course architecture.
HOKUALA GOLF COURSE
Lihue, Hawaii
A Jack Nicklaus design located at the beautiful Hokuala-Kauai Timers Resort on the laidback island of Kauai, this course presents one signature hole after another. A stretch of oceanfront holes will wow every player.
OCALA GOLF CLUB
Ocala, Fla.
Another course on the Florida Historic Golf Trail, Ocala has five sets of tees ranging from 4,246 to 6,552 yards, which guarantees a fit for anyone’s game. SPRING CREEK GOLF CLUB

Throughout the golf course, rock walls and bridges emphasize a theme of old-fashioned elegance and an exceptional golf experience. Spring Creek is constantly awarded and recognized; in 2021 Golf Digest ranked it as a Top 100 Public Courses and in 2019 Golf Advisor ranked it second best course in the state.
