Royal Golf Club Raises Over BHD 4,000 for Children’s Cancer Charity

On Saturday 24th April a whopping 95 people got up in the early hours of the morning to take part in Walk from Dark to Light – Charity Walk organized by 2021 Ladies Captain Denise Dunne, an on-course 5k walk to raise funds for Smile Charity; Children’s Cancer Charity, Bahrain. In order to raise awareness for mental health, Professor Charlotte Kamel – consultant psychiatrist, attended as Guest Speaker to talk about ‘Stigma & Mental Health’.

The event raised in excess of BD 4,000 for Smile Charity. Smile is dedicated to spreading awareness about children’s cancer in Bahrain and providing the social and psychological support to children cancer patients. Smile Charity, run solely by the exceptional volunteers, works hard to ensure the children keep on smiling!

The Royal Golf Club will also be holding a second charity event to raise further funds for Smile Charity – the Bahrain Unity Challenge Cup, this charity golf event will be held on Saturday 22nd May.
