Shadow Hills Golf Club In Midst Of Multi-Faceted Club Renovation

Shadow Hills Golf Club in Indio, Calif. is in the midst of a multi-faceted club renovation that includes golf course and practice facility improvements. The club’s South Course will reopen for play on August 25th with new and improved bunkers, while the renovated practice range, practice putting green and the Montecito Putting Course will reopen in the coming months.

Crews recently completed bunker renovations on the Shadow Hills’ South Course. As part of the renovation, all old sand was removed, new JM DuraSpun bunker liners were installed and new sand added. The South Course bunker renovation began in June and included work on more than 160,000 square feet of bunkers.

The new Shadow Hills’ practice putting green will be increasing in size from 1,800 square feet to approximately 7,000 square feet to accommodate more holes and more golfers. In addition, the practice range has been reshaped and enlarged by 1,500 square feet. The new practice range will have more than 35,000 square feet of natural grass tee area for golfers to practice.

The Club’s Montecito Putting Course is also in the midst of a renovation. Crews are expanding and modifying the putting surfaces, while also improving irrigation and drainage to improve overall turf quality. In addition, lights are being added to facilitate evening enjoyment of the putting course.

“We’re excited about all of the enhancements being made here at Shadow Hills,” said Rolland Vaughn, general manager, Shadow Hills Golf Club. “The new Montecito Putting Course will be incredible and will add to the overall ambiance of the Montecito Clubhouse complex. Meanwhile, the combination of putting green and practice range improvements with the bunker renovations will improve playability of the golf course while enhancing the overall guest experience.”
