Staying TroonFIT with Steven Tinoco: Make it a Habit
Many people will feel that trying to get back into the groove of going to the gym or being more active is a chore, rather than an opportunity to better themselves. Studies show that it takes 21 days of doing something to make it a habit. So what’s stopping you from bettering yourself?
Yes, 21 days of something can be daunting for anyone, but when if comes to your health and well-being we all should rise to the chance to get healthier. We owe it to ourselves to want to feel good and make the everyday things feel easy!
In this time to make it a habit, what if I want to stop or I am tired of doing it?
Well, when we all hit this roadblock make sure to change it up a bit so it doesn’t become monotonous and boring. If you’re going to the gym everyday and getting sick of it, take the workout outside and do body weight stuff. If you feel you need an off day, take it. At the same time though, go for a walk or a hike and substitute your day off for an “Active Recovery Day”.
As I tell all my clients and everyone I talk to about fitness:
- Consistency is the most important thing
- Something is always better than nothing Let’s all start creating better habits for ourselves and enjoy the journey!
