Surf The Earth With A Golfboard At Select Troon Locations

Troon and Troon facilities were early adopters of the Golf Board. Since early 2015 Troon facilities from Hawaii to Florida have been offering Golf Boards as an alternative transportation option while playing Golf. The GolfBoard is like playing golf on a motorized surfboard inspired vehicle. One that  can truly #SurfTheEarth on a Golf Board. Not surprisingly they were created via a partnership between big wave surfer Laird Hamilton, Bally’s Total Fitness founder, Don Wildman and a team of Oregon-based entrepreneurs. They are so much fun to ride, sometimes one might not worry if a putt doesn’t fall or if their drive strays from the fairway.

GolfBoards offer the course owner and operators benefits as well. They can enhance pace-of-play (picture four golfers on Golf Boards driving directly to their golf balls…vs carts going from ball to ball). They reduces course wear-and-tear: Weighing 115 lbs., the GolfBoard delivers 30% less impact on  turf than a single golf cart. In fact GolfBoard was designed with turf sustainability in mind, incorporating 4WD technology to evenly distribute power to the GolfBoard’s 11″ by 4″ turf tires, virtually eliminates ‘tire-spin’ and damaged turf – even on dewy mornings or damp conditions. Most importantly, they are fun to ride and fun to play on.

One might think, “these are only for young people”. Well that is not true, as we have spotted everyone from 18 to 80 riding GolfBoards at Troon locations (my 69 year old father absolutely loved playing golf on a GolfBoard at Westin Kierland Golf Club). Another myth is that they are hard to ride. They are very stable (more stable than a skateboard and easier to ride than a Segway) and easy to learn how to ride. After watching a quick video and 15 minutes or so of a lesson on the practice tee, one can be ready to ride right away.

Princeville Makai Golf Club on the north shore of Kauai, Hawaii was the first course in the Aloha State to adopt Golf Boards and many of the company’s stunning videos were captured at this amazing seaside destination. Westin Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona was the first locale to bring GolfBoards in the wildly popular golf destination of Scottsdale. Sewailo Golf Club at Casino Del Sol in Tucson Arizona (the home golf course for the University of Arizona Wildcats) was the first to bring Golf Boards to the “Old Pueblo”. There are many other amazing Troon locations that offer Golf Boards. Below is a current list (as of 2018) of Golf Board locations within the world of Troon:
