Surf The Turf

Surf The Turf

How to get around a golf course is usually a decision between walking or riding in a cart. But a revolutionary piece of equipment is now offering a third alternative. The motorized GolfBoard allows golfers to "surf the turf" by simply transferring body weight in a carving motion akin to snowboarding or surfing. Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, GolfBoards can reach speeds from 6 to 10 mph via a simple, one-touch switch, and have room for a golf bag with all of your clubs. Conceived by Bally Total Fitness founder Don Wildman and legendary big wave surfer Laird Hamilton, the GolfBoard is currently available for use at numerous Troon-managed properties, including Sewailo Golf Club and The Westin Kierland Golf Club in Arizona; Princeville Makai Golf Club in Hawaii; Marin Country Club in California; The Peninsula Golf & Country Club in Delaware; the World Golf Village in Florida; and The Grove in England. You know you want to!

Until these are priced affordably they won't catch on. You can buy 2 golf carts for the price of one of these. We had them to try at my golf club. They are fun and I would use one even at 59 years old. I can see some safety issues for riders if the golf course you are on is very hilly.
