Talking Rock Member Records Third Hole-In-One On Jay Morrish-Designed Championship Course

Connie Beal, a member of Talking Rock since 2005, recently  recorded her third hole-in-one on Talking Rock’s Jay Morrish-designed championship golf course in Prescott. The ace was recorded on hole three, a 130-yard  par 3 on April 24, 2019 and Beal used a seven wood. Even more amazing, this was her  first full round back since breaking her ankle in December. Although Connie has been golfing for more than two decades, she didn’t become truly invested in the sport until she moved to Talking Rock and was able to play whenever she pleased.

“I love playing on the Talking Rock course, having the chance to play on a course that is incredibly well-maintained, with beautiful views and weather that allows for playing year round is amazing,” she shared.

Beal has four holes-in-one, including three at Talking Rock. Her  first  hole-in-one came  in the mid-nineties at Mauna Lani Golf Course when she was vacationing in Hawaii. Her first at Talking Rock was recorded on July 7, 2006 on the 7th hole with a seven iron. The second happened on March 3, 2010 on hole three, with a five wood.

According to the PGA of America, the probability of getting a hole-in-one on a par three is 12,500 to one. Not only has Beal recorded this amazing feat four times, but her late father also recorded three holes-in-one in his lifetime.

When asking Connie if she had any advice for new golfers or for golfers who have yet to land their first ace she said, “In regards to getting a hole-in-one, it’s a little skill and a lot of luck. A lot of luck.”

Connie and her spouse are also members of the Troon Privé Privileges Program. Being a part of this program gives them the opportunity to play many  of Troon’s amazing courses around the world. Connie mentioned that it is difficult to pick a favorite course because they’ve had the chance to play on so many beautiful courses like Blackstone, Rio Verde and The Boulders. Connie also enjoys always being able to play a few rounds with her friends that live in Prescott.

Talking Rock’s Jay Morrish-designed Championship course was designed to provide a top-level golf experience, whether scratch or first-time golfer. Morrish created an award-winning course that gracefully follows the natural topography and takes advantage of expansive views available in Prescott’s year-round playing season. The high-country, par-72 course surprises and challenges even the most frequent playing members. Morrish’s deep bunkers, signature reachable par-4 holes, and perfectly crafted greens, keep players on their toes. The course provides wide-open space and breathtaking mountain views. The front nine moves through stretches of natural terrain including juniper, native grasses and scrub pine forest with show-stopping views of Granite Mountain. Tuning into the back nine, elevation climbs and the rugged terrain requires members to adjust their game to finish strong.

Fair, challenging, and rewarding, the 18-hole Championship course, plus new nine-hole putting course and chipping area, double-ended driving range, pro shop and professional staff await for golfers at Talking Rock.
