Team Troon On Tour: Team Fitzpatrick with Top 20 Finish at Zurich Classic

PGA TOUR – Zurich Classic
Following Matt Fitzpatrick’s win last week at the RBC Heritage, Matt and his brother Alex created Team Fitzpatrick to join forces for the two player format at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans. Alex played college golf at Wake Forest and turned professional last year. The pair put up an impressive -19 for the tournament to earn a Top 20 finish. Congrats Team Fitzpatrick! .

PGA CHAMPIONS TOUR-Invited Celebrity Classic
Team Troon’s Colin Montgomerie competed down in Texas in the Invited Celebrity Classic with a celebrity studded field that included Tony Romo, Annika Sorenstam, Vince Carter and more. Colin would ultimately finish T73 in the PGA Champions Tour event.

COMING UP THIS WEEK
PGA TOUR –WGC Mexico Championship
The PGA TOUR is crossing the boarded down to Mexico to play Vidanta Vallarta where Team Troon members Gary Woodland and Alex Noren will be competing.
Interesting factoid: The late Tom Weiskopf (one who was an accomplished player, golf course designer and one close to the Troon family) won the tournament back in 1978 when it went by the Doral-Eastern Open.
LPGA TOUR- JM Eagle LA Championship
The LPGA TOUR travels back to California again to compete in the city of angels at Wilshire Country Club. It’s a par 71 course holding. Yealimi Noh is in the field and her game off the tee will come in handy as the course will be playing at 6,258yd and she is currently ranked in the top 10 on the LPGA for driving distance at 278.25yds.
PGA CHAMPIONS TOUR – Insperity Invitational
Texas is the next stop on tour for the Champions and Team Troon’s Colin Montgomerie. He has played in 206 Champions Tour events since joining and has made 204 of the 206 cuts. Play well this week!
