Its Open Championship Week!
The 150th Open Championship returns to St. Andrews for the final major of 2022. Team Troon is bringing a two major win streak into this final major as Matt Fitzpatrick captured last month’s U.S. Open and Justin Thomas captured the PGA Championship the month prior. Both are in the field (the former with a Tiger pairing) as is Gary Woodland who is coming off some fine play as of late. Current odds for Team Troon players to win the Open Championship, courtesy of PointsBet, are as follows:
2022 U.S. Open Champion and Team Troon member Matt Fitzpatrick and Troon® have partnered on a fundraising effort in support of Ukraine humanitarian relief. Fans who donate to the WHO Foundation between July 1st and July 31st via the Troon website or by scanning the QR Code on Fitzpatrick’s golf bag to be used at the 150th Open Championship, will be entered to win a prize package from Fitzpatrick, Troon and Troon International that includes:
- Matt Fitzpatrick’s Ukraine-themed, blue and yellow golf bag used at the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews and autographed by the reigning U.S. Open champion
- $500 in golf credit on Troon International App
- A Troon Executive Card or National Troon Card (if the winner is from U.S.)
Donations made through the WHO Foundation will go directly to deliver urgent healthcare to people across Ukraine and refugees in neighboring countries affected by the crisis. Thanks to the vital support of donors, WHO has so far delivered 398 metric tons of medical supplies and equipment to Ukraine, including emergency surgical and trauma kits, serving 650,000 people since the start of the conflict. Urgent support is still needed to continue to respond to the growing needs of the population in this evolving humanitarian health crisis.
Matt Fitzpatrick’s golf bag is adorned with Ukraine colors and may just be the first golf bag to ever feature a QR code with a link to humanitarian efforts. A preview of the bag is as follows:
