Team Troon On Tour: Fitzpatrick with a Top 10 at Memorial

PGA TOUR- Memorial Tournament

This week, the PGA Tour along with Team Troon competed in the historical Memorial Tournament that was founded and hosted by one of golf greatest, Jack Nicklaus. The tournament has been running since 1976 at Muirfield Village Golf Club and the event dedicated on Memorial Day, May 27, 1974 with a match between Nicklaus and the late Tim Weiskopf (designer of many notable Troon locales). The event has gone on to be been a standing fanfare as the theme of the Tournament is around any “Person or persons, living or deceased, living or deceased, who has contributed to the game of golf with conspicuous honor.”

Most of Team Troon was visible this week. Matt Fitzpatrick was low Team Troon posting a Top 10. Gary Woodland was next Team Troon member that finished Top 25.

PGA CHAMPIONS TOUR-Principal Charity Classic

The Champions Tour this week played in The Principal Charity Classic, which raises money for Iowa children’s charities. Through the tournament this year, it has now brought the giving total of more than $30 million. Team Troon member Colin Montgomerie carded -6 for the week. It was again another solid week under par for Montgomerie as it was his 4th week in a row under par and take him now 8 weeks out of 10 under par for the season. Great playing Colin!

PGA TOUR- Charles Schwab Challenge

Team Troon member, Alex Noren competed in the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Noren had a great week getting back into the top 30 and carding an even par for the event.

PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS – Senior PGA Championship

Defending champion of the Senior PGA Championship from 14’ and 15’ Colin Montgomerie had another great week placing under par and top 15 and having carded 15 birdies for the three rounds.

COMING UP

PGA TOUR- RBC Canadian Open

With only one more week until the US Open, Team Troon and a stout field is playing in the RBC Canadian Open at Oakdale Golf and Country Club. Troon Investor/Supporter Rory McIlroy captured the event last year in epic fashion. Matt Fitzpatrick and Matt Kuchar headline Team Troon this week. Go Matt. Go Matt and Go Rory!

PGA CHAMPIONS-American Family Insurance Open

The Champions Tour is taking part of the American Family Insurance Open which title sponsor is the American Family Insurance Foundation. The foundation was founded by Champions player Steve Stricker to help support charities, educational initiatives and organizations aimed at building strong families and healthy kids, empowering them to chase and achieve their dreams. Team Troon member Colin Montgomerie will be taking part of the tournament in Madison, WI this week.

LPGA-Shoprite- LPGA Classic

This is an exciting week for Troon as the LPGA heads to a Troon-managed property, Seaview Golf Club to play in the Shoprite LPGA Classic. The club is a 36-hole track and is known as one of New Jersey’s oldest and most prestigious courses. The great field will be competing on the links style Bay Course and the defending champion is Brooke Henderson. Best of luck to the entire Seaview Team on pulling off what will be a great event!
