Team Troon on Tour: Justin Thomas and Matt Fitzpatrick at Hero World Challenge

This past week’s PGATOUR action took a limited field of 30 players to the Tiger Woods hosted Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas. Two Team Troon members were in the field in Justin Thomas and Matt Fitzpatrick. Thomas would end up leading Team Troon with a solid -14, T5 finish. His final round 64 tied the lowest final round score in the event,  earning him a lot of TV time on Golf Channel yesterday. Fitzpatrick would finish -10 after two solid weekend rounds of 68-69 to place T12. Complete Team Troon results are as follows:

  • T5 Justin Thomas, 67-72-71-64: -14
  • T12  Matt Fitzpatrick, 71-70-68-69: -10

Coming Up

Its QBE Shootout week at Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples. This is the second professional golf event at the Tiburón in a three-week span, as PGA TOUR and LPGA professionals will play in this week’s QBE Shootout, December 10 – 12. The LPGA Tour’s season ending CME Group Tour Championship was just played (November 18 – 21) at Tiburón and was won by Jin Young Ko. Following a two-month break, Tiburón will then play host to the PGA TOUR Champions’ Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO, February 18 – 20, 2022. Tiburón Golf Club is the only golf facility in the world to host LPGA Tour, PGA TOUR Champions and PGA TOUR-sanctioned tournaments over a three-month stretch.

Team Troon member Matt Kuchar is the defending champion (with teammate Harris English) and will be in the field to defend their title. They are the most successful pairing in Shootout history with three wins, and two runner-up finishes.

Bubba Watson, the newest member of Team Troon, will unveil his Troon-loged golf bag at the QBE Shootout and will be paired with LPGA Tour great Lexi Thompson.

You can tune into the action on Golf Channel and on NBC, Friday through Sunday. TV times / coverage are as follows:

  • DEC 10, FRI: Golf Channel 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM MST
  • DEC 11, SAT: Golf Channel 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM MST and NBC 1:00 – 3:00 PM MST
  • DEC 12, SUN: Golf Channel 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM MST and NBC 12:00 – 2:00 PM MST
