Team Troon on Tour: T11 Finishes for Woodland at 3M Open, Thomas & Noren representing in Olympics

PGA TOUR

Gary Woodland led Team Troon this week with a solid T11 finish in the 3M Open in Blaine, Minnesota. Woodland would go into the final round standing in a tie for second place after round three (following three rounds in the 60’s). He ended up closing with a 72 that put him five back of eventual winner Cameron Champ. Regardless a solid week for Woodland.

PGA Champions Tour

Colin Montgomerie and his all Troon Bag would be back in the U.K. for the Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex at Sunningdale Golf Club, Sunningdale, Berkshire, England. Colin would play solid all week long and post a three under, four round total to finish T11. Great playin’ Colin.

Coming Up – Team Troon Going For Gold in Tokyo:

The PGA TOUR is in essence “on a break” for the Olympic Men’s Golf Competition July 29th – Aug 1st. Best of luck to Justin Thomas who will be on Team USA and Alex Noren who will be on Team Sweden. We are excited to see them compete for an Olympic Medal! As an FYI…

  • Patrick Reed (replaced Bryson DeChambeau, who withdrew after testing positive for COVID before traveling to Tokyo)

With July being Troon Family Golf Month, many of Team Troon have been seen sharing support of our efforts (not only this month, but every month). Troon On CBS – A Celebration of PGA Professionals

While not specifically Team Troon related, we know many of you may have caught that cool feature that aired on CBS called “A Celebration of PGA Professionals”. In that feature, fifteen PGA Members, including Troon’s Founder and Chairman Dana Garmany, were featured in an hour-long nationwide special, around the award winners (Dana won the inaugural Golf Executive of the Year honor). Included in the Troon related segment/feature were a number of great shots of Troon locations from around the world, interviews with Troon Executive team members and great interviews with Troon PGA Members including, but not limited to: Steve Outlaw (Wickenburg Ranch), Ryan Walls (Ballenisles) Ellie McManus (Whirlwind), Garrett Wallace (Troon CC). Well done to all involved. Your interviews were great.

  2. CBS will be broadcasting an “Encore Presentation” TONIGHT of “A Celebration of PGA Professionals” (Monday, July 26) in primetime at 8 p.m. ET on their cable outlet, CBS Sports Network. Set your DVR, tune in (or see #1 above and watch on Troon social. It turned out great.
