Team Troon on Tour: Team Troon with a #1 & #2 Finish at ZOZO Championship

WOW! What a week for Team Troon! Team Troon went #1 and #2 with Patrick Cantlay winning and Justin Thomas coming in 2nd at the ZOZO Championship @ Sherwood. This victory was Cantlay’s third of his career (prior victories came at the Shriners Hospitals for Open and The Memorial). He shot a final round 65 to head off Team Troon member and world #3 Justin Thomas and world #2 John Rahm. Congrats to Patrick and congrats to the rest of Team Troon. Complete Team Troon finishes included:

  • T1 Patrick Cantlay, -23
  • T2 Justin Thomas, -22
  • T17 Alex Noren, -15
  • T26 Matt Fitzpatrick, -14
  • T54 Matt Kuchar -8

Coming Up

The PGA Tour moves from California all the way to Bermuda for the Bermuda Championship. All of Team Troon is resting up for the forthcoming Houston Open (and the following week The Masters), therefore this in essence ends up being an off week in some respect for Team Troon on the PGA Tour.

On the Champions Tour, Colin Montgomerie and his all Troon Bag will be in the field at the TimberTech Championship in Boca Raton, Florida. Colin is coming off of a T29 finish in the prior event and the week before that a strong 2nd place finish at the SAS Championship, so is in great form.  Go Colin!

As we shared in prior Team Troon on Tour updates, the recent charity HIO shot from a floating tee at Rio Secco Golf Club  in Las Vegas received a lot of “buzz” on social. In fact many of the players themselves, in the past week did some nice social, tweets, RT’s from the event. In addition to social mojo shared in last weeks’ update (Cheyenne Woods posts etc.) the following players pushed out more plugs/praise last week: Gary Woodland tweeted/retweeted to his 113K Followers…as did Matt Fitzpatrick to his 82K followers…as did Alex Noren via Instagram to his 75K followers.

Congratulations again Patrick and Go Team Troon!
