Team Troon On Tour: Thomas and Fitzpatrick with T5 and T13 at the Hero

Hero World Challenge  

Twenty of golf biggest stars were on the island of Nassau, Bahamas for the Hero World Challenge. The tournament, which was established by Tiger Woods and his late father Earl in 1999, raises funds to support youth around the world (with proceeds from the event supporting TGR Foundation, Tavistock Foundation and the Bahamas Youth Foundation). Two Team Troon members were in the field in Justin Thomas and Matt Fitzpatrick. Justin Thomas would be low Team Troon member with a T5 finish at 10 under highlighted by a third round 66 that got him into the second to the last group. Matt Fitzpatrick would close strong with a final round 67 to finish -1 for the tournament and move up to T13. Solid playing Team Troon.

There are two stunning affiliated locations in Nassau, Bahamas: BahaMar – Home of the Jack Nicklaus Signature designed Royal Blue Golf Club, and three oceanfront hotels (Rosewood, SLS and Grand Hyatt) and…The Tom Weiskopf-designed Ocean Club Golf Course which is a key amenity for the Atlantis Paradise Island and was a past host venue for the LPGA Pure Silk Invitation from 2012-2018. Nassau, Bahamas, should definitely be on your list of “must visit” destinations, with these stunning resorts and courses being a great reason to make it happen.

QBE Shootout at Tiburón Golf Club

Matt Kuchar arguably might have the best record at the QBE Shootout that tees up this week at Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples Matt and his partner Harris English are tied for the most victories in the event with three total in 2013, 2016 and 2020. In addition, Team Kuchar/Harris have had six total top five (or better) finishes.The event features twelve teams of two that pair up and compete over 54 holes. On Friday, teams will play a scramble. Saturday is a modified alternate shot, and Sunday’s final round is four-ball. This years event marks the first time there will be two LPGA stars teeing it up in the field.  World No. 2 Nelly Korda (who will pair up with Denny McCarthy) and world No. 7 Lexi Thompson (who will be playing with Maverick McNealy).

Capital One – The Match
The seventh edition of Capital One’s The Match will be a good one. This version will be a 12 hole, under the lights shootout on December 10th. Tiger Woods and Troon Investor/supporter Rory McIlroy will take on Team Troon member in Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth. This will be the first Match Appearance for Rory, Justin and Jordan (and will be the third for Tiger). The event will begin at 6 p.m. ET on TNT, with simulcasts available on TBS, truTV and HLN. Proceeds from the event will benefit Hurricane Ian relief efforts, after the devastating effects of the storm on the Gulf Coast and its surrounding communities. The previous six editions of The Match have raised $33 million for various charitable organizations and has donated more than 27 million meals through Feeding America.
