Team Troon on Tour: Viva Las Vegas

For the second week in a row, the PGA TOUR stayed in the “City of Entertainment” and the lights were shining bright on Team Troon. All of Team Troon was playing in this second stop in Las Vegas with Matt Fitzpatrick and Justin Thomas serving as our proverbial “headliners”. Ie they would both would lead Team Troon with two T12 finishes at -8. Both were in the top 10 going into the weekend, but ultimately would fall shy of Jason Kokrak, who would earn his first PGA Tour victory and an invite to Kapalua for the Sentry TOC. All Team Troon finishes are detailed below:

  • T12 Matt Fitzpatrick, -8
  • T12 Justin Thomas (2019 Champion), -8
  • T38 Patrick Cantlay, -4
  • T52 Matt Kuchar, +3
  • 72 Gary Woodland, +9
  • 76 Alex Noren, +17

With the PGA Tour spending two weeks in Las Vegas, we would be remiss if we didn’t point out all of the cool experiences in Las Vegas (and Southern Nevada) for golfers, Troon Cardholders, Private Club members (to experience via Troon Advantage or even a fun future member trip) within the Troon Golf and OB Sports family, respectively. These include:

Troon Golf Affiliated Locales in Las Vegas & Southern Nevada
Cascata Golf Club
– One of the most dramatic experiences in golf and desert golf. Designed by Rees Jones meandering through canyons and waterfalls, Golfweek ranks Cascata #2 in Nevada (just behind the 2020 CJ Cup host venue)

Rio Secco Golf Club  – Rees Jones design, sister VICI Golf Property to Cascata and also ranked amongst the Best Courses You Can Play in Nevada

Laughlin Ranch Golf Club – While technically in Arizona, just 90 min from Las Vegas and in the casino/river destination of Laughlin, NV (and ranked in the Top 15 in AZ for 2019 by Golfweek)

OB Sports locations In Las Vegas & Southern Nevada

Angel Park Golf Club – Two Arnold Palmer designs (Mountain & Palm), the Cloud Nine Short Course (12 holes with 9 lighted for night play) and more

Durango Hills Golf Club – Honored as one of the city’s best Executive Course

Mountain Falls Golf Club – New OB Sports addition in Pahrump, NV (45 min from Las Vegas). Originally designed Jack Nicklaus & Cal Olsen

And now back to Team Troon…

PGA Champions Tour

Colin Montgomerie and his all Troon bag was grinding it out at the Dominion Energy Charity Classic in Richmond, VA…a early week weather delay promoted a lot of golf over the weekend. He played solidly, finishing at -4 for the second week in a row. This week that earned him a T29 finish behind Phil Mickelson (who would capture his second PGA Champions Tour title in as many starts).

  • T29 Colin Montgomerie, -4

Coming Up

The tour slides down from Las Vegas, to Southern California for the Zoho Championship at Sherwood CC. Team Troon will be well represented with five Team Troon players are in the field, including:

  • Justin Thomas
  • Gary Woodland
  • Patrick Cantlay
  • Matt Fitzpatrick
  • Alex Noren

Shareable

As shared last week we did a cool activation with Team Troon players at Rio Secco Golf Club. We were commemorating our continued commitment to Team Troon with a $1 Million Shot for charity from a floating tee on Rio Secco’s 16th hole. Many of you probably saw some of the sizzle on @Troon or @RioSeccoGolfClub social channels (be sure to reshare/retweet, etc). Highlights of the event will be covered on the November 7th airing of Breaking Par TV (and we will share following the airing on Troon YouTube, Troon.com and Troon social channels…so mark your calendars to tune in to see A) ff there was a Hole In One made for $1M and B) who won the $10,000 for local charities (as all players picked a local charity to compete for via a Troon Closest To The Pin contest for charity).

Have a great week and go Team Troon!
