Recapping last week’s Honda Classic and getting ready for tomorrow’s start of the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.
Results From Last Week
The PGATOUR moved from Mexico City (and the first WGC Event of the year) to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and the Honda Classic. Gary Woodland was the solo representative of Team Troon in the field that week. He overcame a tough round on “moving day” to finish with a solid 67 and tournament total of -2. Just four shots shy of eventual winner Sungjae Im. Gary’s four round scores were 70 – 67 – 74 – 67.
Congrats Gary on yet another Top 10 Finish: T8 Gary Woodland, -2
The “Florida Swing” moves north to Orlando tomorrow tees off the first round at Bay Hill for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Team Troon will have two professionals in the field this week: Matt Fitzpatrick and Alex Noren.
Alex Noren is playing well as of late and Matt Fitzpatrick has played well in the past at Bay Hill. For those that remember, he was at the top of the leaderboard at last year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. He would ultimately finish in 2nd place, just two shots shy of the 2019 eventual champion: Francesco Molinari…so watch for Matt to get over the top (in a good way) this week.
As seen on Patrick Cantlay’s Social, Team Cantlay launched a new website www.CantlayGolf.com. This new site has some interesting stories on history, video highlights, and more. It also includes a nice Partner section donning the Troon logo and link to Troon.com.
Alex Noren at The Falls Club Last Week
Props to The Falls Club Team (Daniel, Steve, Bonnie, Linda and all) for the collaboration on the event pre-Honda Classic last week. We were able to have Team Troon member (and world Top 100 golfer), Alex Noren attended a Pre-Honda Classic / Team Troon Reception, done in collaboration with The Falls and Falls members last Tuesday. Alex engaged with members, did a fun Q&A with Steve Brauner, and Tim Rose while shedding some insight on his life on the PGA Tour. Some photos from the event are below:
Have great week and GO TEAM TROON!
