120 golfers from across India, Spain, South Africa, UK and Korea competed for 15 spots in the Masters Series Final to be held on Saturday 20th November 2021.
The golf course was set up to the highest standard with the greens rolling at 10.5 on the stimp meter, which proved a challenge for many of the players to master early on in their rounds.
The players on the day commented on how immaculate the golf course was presented and also on the great service and food and beverage offerings made available to all contestants throughout the day.
General Manager of the Prestige Golfshire Club Declan McCollam said; “It is great to see so many players from all over the world eager to get out and compete in this esteemed event again after an absence of a full qualifying tournament since 2019. The golfers are all very keen to compete for the overall end of year prize of a trip for two flying Business Class to Greece and Staying at the multi Award Winning, Troon Golf managed, Costa Navarino Westin Resort on the west coast of Greece. The top 15 qualifiers after round one included three female players which was great to see and we hope that more women will take part over the next three qualifying legs. This event is without a doubt one of India’s biggest amateur events and could only be made possible with the help of title sponsors like TechnoGym and many other long-time sponsors like Callaway Golf who will supply the overall winner with a 2021 Masters Golf Bag from the Augusta Masters collection. The top three qualifiers in round one was Himangshu Baruah with 42 points, Suresh HA with 41 Points and Ashok Chokalingam with 39 points.
Round two of the Prestige Masters Series for 2021 will be held on Saturday 20th August.
