The Allegria Hosts Three Major Events In Support Of The Egyptian Golf Federation

The Allegria in Cairo, hosted three major events last week in support of the Egyptian Golf Federation, with the aim of growing the game of golf both locally and internationally.  It was fantastic to see country flags flying at The Allegria and demonstrates the resilience and passion so many have for the game. The club hosted The Egyptian Junior Open, The Egyptian Ladies Open known as the Nefertiti Cup, and The Egyptian Junior Open 2021 For Youngsters which saw players joining from countries including Egypt, Greece, Jordan, Netherlands, France, and the Czech Republic.

The Egyptian Junior Open

From the 24 till the 26th of June 2021
Format: strokeplay – 54 holes
Categories:
– boys under 18 years old
-girls under 18 years old
-boys under 15 years old
-girls under 15 years old
-boys under 13 years old
-girls under 13 years old

The Egyptian Ladies Open, Nefertiti cup

25th and 26th of June 2021
Format: Strokeplay – 36 holes
Two categories:
-Gross score
-Net score (winner receives the Maha El Senoussi cup, in memory of Maha El Senoussi)

The Egyptian Junior open 2021 for youngsters

Format: strokeplay
Categories:
9 holes
– boys 11 years old and under
– girls 11 years old and under
6 holes
– boys under 9 years old
– girls under 9 years old.
It was a field of 55 players, competing for countries like Egypt, Greece, Jordan, Netherlands, France, and the Czech Republic.
Teams visiting:
5 players from Greece, 4 players from Jordan, and their team representatives.
It was tough conditions for all players as temperatures rise in Cairo combined with the undulating walk of The Allegria golf course, which was a test of their endurance. However, that didn’t dampen their performance; there were some fantastic scores shot by Egyptian players and The Allegria Junior team players competed extremely well, with many achieving first place positions. As well as a fantastic experience on the golf course, participants enjoyed an amazing sound and light show at The Great Pyramids of Giza to round off a memorable trip for many.
