When You Absolutely, Positively Have to Hit it High and Land it Soft

The cut-lob is a shot golfers frequently need but rarely use. It strikes fear in the hearts of many golfers because the misses (when the shot is not properly executed) can be embarrassing.

I'll spare you the suspense and explain the technique. In order to hit a shot that flies high and lands softly, you must aim left of your target and open your clubface. You must also play the ball in the center of your stance. To an observer, your ball position will look forward but that's because you're aiming your body to the left of your target (if you play golf right-handed).
