The Inaugural Abu Dhabi Amateur Championship Will Take Place At Saadiyat Beach Golf Club
The inaugural Abu Dhabi Amateur Championship will take place at the stunning Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, situated on Saadiyat Island in the UAE’s Capital, Abu Dhabi. Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, with its Gary Player designed course, is one of the world’s most captivating golfing projects. The Troon-managed facility harnesses the stunning natural beauty of Saadiyat Island to create an unparalleled experience, made all the more rewarding with spectacular views of the Gulf’s glittering blue waters fringed by pristine white sands.
The 54 Hole Tournament will take place over three days from Monday 17th – Wednesday 19th December with the official Practice Round taking place on Sunday 16th December. The Championship will be the first World Amateur Golf Ranking Championship in the region with support from the Emirates Golf Federation and the R&A. The format of play is Individual Strokeplay and entries will be open to Male Amateurs with an official USGA, EGA or CONGU Handicap of 4.4 or better.

- Saturday 15th December – Championship Welcome Reception and guest speaker @ Tournament Hotel
- Sunday 16th December – Practice Round (Pre-booked Tee Times)
- Monday 17th December – Tournament Round 1 (Draw)
- Tuesday 18th December – Tournament Round 2 (Draw)
- Wednesday 19th December – Tournament Final Round, & Prize Presentation & Dinner @ Golf Course
- Wednesday 19th PM or Thursday 20th – Departures
All entrants must be Male with a valid International Handicap of 4.4 or better, as of 1st October 2018.
Note:
The overall field will be limited to 72 competitors. A ballot will take place if more than 72 Male Amateurs enter to play in the Championship.
Once the closing date is reached, the field of players will be finalised with the top 72 players receiving a place in the Championship. The remaining number of entrants will be put on a waiting list with the player with the lowest handicap acting as 1st reserve and so on.
