Thirty years ago, The Ritz-Carlton put Naples, Fla. on the resort map when it opened its twin Mediterranean-inspired towers just steps from the sand on three miles of gorgeous Gulf of Mexico beachfront. At the time, it was the first Ritz-Carlton in Southwest Florida.

In 1998, as if one palatial Ritz-Carlton wasn't enough, Naples celebrated the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort Community called Tiburón (which means "shark" in Spanish) just three miles away. This time, the sane was in the form of Greg-Norman designed coquina shell waste bunkers at his signature, 36-hole Tiburón Golf Club.
