Troon North To Host 1st Annual Strides For CJD Satellite Event
In Honor of Neil W. Foster and Families Affected by Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, Participants Will Run/Walk On October 31
Scottsdale, Ariz. (October 31, 2015) – On Saturday, October 31, 2015, supporters from all over the country will run/walk to make a difference for Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) in the 1st Annual Strides for CJD event. The main event is being held in New Jersey; however, the local satellite event will be hosted at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. in memory of Neil W. Foster and families affected by CJD.
CJD is a very rare, rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disorder and the disease is invariably fatal. Currently, there is no known treatment or cure for CJD and so rare of a disorder that most people have never heard of the disease. CJD has significantly impacted the family of Corby W. Foster, assistant general manager of Troon North Golf Club, taking his father, two uncles, and grandfather.
“While research is currently under way, we join the fight with all the other CJD families in hopes of creating awareness, gaining answers, and long term, a cure,” said Foster. “Golf and the beauty that is the Sonoran Desert was a passion of my father, so it is only fitting to walk this beautiful course in his honor.”
The event will be a day spent honoring those that have been lost and are loved so much and to support all the families who have been affected by this tragic disease. The event is open to the public so everyone is encouraged to attend and bring their family and share with friends.

*Parking and start of walk will begin in the parking lot across Dynamite Blvd. from the club.
