Recently, I was able to make my first visit to incredible India since the onset of the pandemic to visit the team at Prestige Golfshire Club. Prestige Golfshire Club is a spectacular 18-hole facility located in Bangalore, India that was designed by PGA Design Consulting and one that Troon has had the privilege of working with for many years.
Troon was selected by the Prestige Group to assist with the construction advisory services, pre-opening activities, and full management of the golf facilities when the project started back in 2010 and it’s been fantastic to see the golf club grow over the years and accumulate an extensive amount of accolades over this time, the latest being India’s Best Golf Course at the 2021 World Golf Awards.
The Prestige Group’s ambitious vision of delivering Bangalore’s most prestigious golf resort was completed by the construction of ultra-luxurious independent villas that form a community around the golf course, and the recent addition of a 300-room JW Marriott hotel. During my visit, I am proud to say I was the first guest to check into this hotel, which was a real compliment since I have watched the facility being completed over the years. The resort perfectly frames a picturesque view over the golf course and out over the Nandi Hills.
With the completion of the resort, Prestige Golfshire easily becomes a must-play golf destination for any discerning golfing tourist. It is a great opportunity to play some fantastic golf while experiencing the incredible hospitality, world-renowned Indian cuisine, and exceptional cultural experiences that are right on your doorstep. It’s really exciting to see the ambitious vision of the Prestige Group become a reality and a honour to work alongside them as they open up the door for golfing tourists around the world to experience India.
