The rewards don’t stop there! All the coaches involved with the Troon Putting Challenge this August participated with one-another as well. The coach with the most participants in the challenge received a Nike fitness kit. With 29 total participants over the month at Troon North Golf Club, Ryan Mahoney was named the winner!

Ryan is a Class A PGA Teaching Professional and has worked at Troon North for the past eighteen years. Most of that time has been spent teaching and coaching the game to players of all abilities in various capacities. Including private and group lessons, clinics, camps, and golf schools. Ryan, alongside Director of Instruction, Doug Hammer is in charge of the Troon North Junior Academy which, consists of their junior clinics, summer and winter camps, Elite-Masters year long program, Ping Junior Interclub team and PGA Junior League. Under Ryan’s guidance, Troon North’s Junior Academy has become one of Arizona’s premiere junior programs for kids of all abilities to learn, develop, and grow their passion for the game of golf. Ryan has been recognized as one of US Kids Golf Top 50 Coaches, Honorable Mention over the past several years as well as one of the top junior coaches in the Southwest PGA Section.

Ryan’s philosophy is simple and easy to comprehend, he does not teach one method but emphasizes on creating a swing that will provide consistency. Ryan feels that focusing on preparation, progressive learning and having fun, are the keys to being successful at golf.

A special thank you to all participants and coaches who joined Troon in this challenge as well as many other great opportunities for Player Development Month!
