Winter 2021-22 Troon Saguaro Amateur Series Events Confirmed
Schedule Features Six World-Amateur Ranked Events Slated From November Through January
Boulder, Colorado—As part of its annual schedule of 11 world-ranked amateur golf tournaments, the Troon Saguaro Amateur Series will host six events this winter. The first event (the fifth overall in the 2021-22 Series) is the Gobbler Amateur at Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona, November 22-24 and the concluding tournament will be the Sonoran Amateur January 7-9, an inaugural event that will lead-off the 2022-23 Troon Saguaro Amateur Series at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Arizona. Following the Gobbler in December is the Desert Amateur at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes just south of Phoenix and the Agave Amateur at Shadow Hills in Indio, California. The Grapevine Amateur, being held December 28-30 at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California, is the annual host to the PGA Tour’s Fortinet Championship, this year won by Max Homa, as well as the Series’ Silverado Amateur. The Grapevine is followed by the 2021-22 Series Championship, the Saguaro Amateur at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes. The inaugural Sonoran Amateur will take place immediately after the Saguaro Amateur at nearby Whirlwind GC (Devil’s Claw) enabling players to play back-to-back events in Phoenix at the beginning of 2022. All Troon Saguaro Amateur Series events feature world-amateur ranking points over 54 holes with no cuts.

- Agave Amateur-Shadow Hills Golf Club-Indio, California-December 18-20
- Grapevine Amateur-Silverado Golf Club (North)-Napa, California-December 28-30
- Saguaro Amateur-Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club-Maricopa, Arizona-January 3-5
- Sonoran Amateur-Whirlwind Golf Club (Devil’s Claw)-Chandler, Arizona-January 7-9
TROON SAGUARO AMATEUR SERIES: The Troon Saguaro Amateur Series is a world-ranked amateur tournament series of nine events in 2021-22. The Series concludes with the 2022 Saguaro Amateur at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona. All Series events are 54-holes with no cuts on premier golf courses.
