Chris Mayson Named One Of Golf Digest’s

San Diego, Cali. – Chris Mayson has recently been named as a Best Young Teacher in America by national publication Golf Digest. The magazine highlights the Top 40 Coaches under the age of 40 in the United States every two years. The list is reserved for the brightest minds in today’s instruction community and includes many coaches who teach famous PGA TOUR players, including Tiger Woods’ new coach, Chris Como.

Golf Digest Senior Editor, Peter Morrice, said: “This year the Best Young Teacher selection process included more applicants than ever before, and the competition was very strong. We’re confident we have identified the instructors under the age of 40 who are making the biggest impact on the industry.

Chris Mayson was named to the list for his work with some of the world’s best professional players. Among Chris’ students is PGA TOUR winner, Brendan Steele. Chris has also coached 8 LPGA Tour players including LPGA Major Champion, Sun Young Yoo, LPGA Tour Champions Beatriz Recari, IK Kim, and Hee Won Han and European Tour winner and NCAA Champion, Mara Hernandez.

When Chris is not on the road with his touring professionals he is at Golf Digest Top 100 Golf Course, Maderas, where he is Director of the Maderas Golf Academy. The Academy is home to the very best juniors in the nation and is proud to be the headquarters for the USA Junior National Team on the West Coast. In the last seven years Chris has coached 45 juniors to scholarships at Universities including Stanford, USC, UCLA, Arizona, UC Berkely, Oklahoma State, Oregon, North Carolina, Mississippi State, SDSU, Texas Tech, Purdue, San Francisco, New Mexico, Washington and Northwestern.
