Troon-Managed Courses Recognized in Top Modern and State-By-State Categories

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon,® the leader in upscale golf course management development and marketing is pleased to announce that 29 of its managed courses have been named to the list of Golfweek’s “Best Courses” in the United States.

Pronghorn (Fazio course) in Oregon, Kapalua Golf Resort (Plantation course) and The Golf Club at Black Rock in Idaho, were yet again listed on the prestigious list of the Top 100 “Best Modern Courses” (post 1960).

Among the courses named to the “Best Courses You Can Play, State-by-State” rankings, several made significant moves up the list including: Southern Dunes Golf Club, Talking Stick Golf Club and Golf Club of Estrella in Arizona; Maderas Golf Club in California; Payne Stewart Golf Club in Missouri; Conestoga Golf Club in Nevada; Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club in New Jersey; and The Rawls Course at Texas Tech in Texas.

An impressive number of four Troon-managed courses ranked No. 1 in their respective states, namely Lake of Isles (North course) in Connecticut, Bayside Resort Golf Club in Delaware, Kapalua Golf Resort (Plantation course) in Hawaii, and Payne Stewart Golf Club in Missouri.

Variety and memorability of par 3s, 4s and 5s -Different clubs hit; extent to which the angles of play create interesting and varied playing options; and extent to which holes offer variety of options from the tee and on the second shot.

Basic quality of conditioning – Variety of playing textures; extent of turf coverage; consistency and quality of bunker sand.

“Walk in the park” test – Degree to which the course ultimately is worth spending a half-day on.
