TROON GOLF CLUBHOUSES RECEIVE CRITTENDEN GOLF AWARDS

Scottsdale, Arizona – Troon Golf, the recognized world leader in luxury brand golf management, development, and marketing, is pleased to announce its standings in the recent “Eighth Annual Crittenden Clubhouse Competition”. The publishers of Golf Inc. magazine awarded honors to the two new structures at The Westin La Cantera Resort’s Palmer Course in San Antonio, Texas, and Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Sacramento, California as top clubhouse facilities in the United States.

The 2001 Crittenden Clubhouse Competition identified new facilities open since January 1, 2000 that best exemplified the successful combination of efficiency, quality construction, and aesthetic touches. The winners will appear in the December issue of Golf Inc.

The architecture and interior design for The Westin La Cantera Palmer clubhouse by William Zmistowski Associates of Boulder, Colorado, earned First Place in the Daily Fee category. The clubhouse was expressly designed to reflect the architectural heritage of the Spanish Colonial period. Reminiscent of older Mission-style architecture, the bell tower is the prominent landmark, visible for miles from the resort. Inside guests are able to walk in an unimpeded flow in the open and spacious interior from the golf shop through the restaurant and onto the patio.

The Whitney Oaks clubhouse, designed and appointed by Williams & Padden Architects and Planners of Roseville, California, received an Honorable Mention in the same category. Located in Sacramento, the Whitney Oaks clubhouse is a massive structure of indigenous stone and glass, offering an expansive elevated view of the golf course, lakes, and stands of the namesake live oak trees. Inside, the richly paneled cherry wood interiors lend elegantly warm ambience to the golf shop and Pyramid Grill.

“We are honored by the recognition for these stunning clubhouses by Crittenden Golf,” stated Senior Vice President, Clubhouse Development, Cindy Anderson. “We were very excited to have been involved with these two incredible clubhouses as both architects provided exceptional designs. Troon Golf now has fantastic facilities to complete the great golf experience our guests are accustomed to.”
