Team Troon On Tour: 2nd Finish for Noren in Bermuda; Montgomerie with T20 at PCC

PGA TOUR- Butterfield Bermuda Championship

This past weekend, the PGA TOUR was in Bermuda for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship at Port Royal Golf Club. Team Troon Alex Noren was in the field and continued his stellar play. He posted some great scores all week but it was Camillo Villegas who won the championship. Great job to Alex who played so well and was close to getting the W. We know a PGA TOUR victory is in your very near future.

PGA CHAMPIONS TOUR – Charles Schwab Championship at Phoenix Country Club

It was a truly successful week at Phoenix Country Club  for the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. First off, congrats is in order to the associates and membership of Phoenix Country Club for putting on another amazing Charles Schwab Cup Championship. This was the seventh year of the event at this AZ favorite and  great competition was played. Team Troon member Colin Montgomerie in the field and hung around the leaderboard most of the week, scoring multiple rounds in the 60’s. One highlight was his 18th hole of his first round where he holed out for eagle to finish -4. This highlight was shared via @PGATourChampions and many other social feeds. Montgomerie ultimately would finish T20 in this season ending finale. It was Steven Alker who won the Championship on Sunday with an impressive -18. Steve Stricker would be named the overall Charles Schwab Cup champion. Congrats again to the winners and the team at Phoenix Country Club!

NETFLIX CUP – Las Vegas

Team Troon’s Justin Thomas took part in the first of its kind “Netflix Cup” in Las Vegas. The tournament which aired live on Netflix included four pairs, each consisting of one Formula 1 driver and one PGA Tour professional, playing an eight-hole match in custom Club Car carts. The winners from Match 1 and Match 2 competed in a final playoff (closet to the pin) to take home the Netflix Cup. Justin Thomas and his F1 partner in Carlos Sainz was victorious thanks to a great final shot from JT. Congrats Justin and Carlos!

PGA TOUR-RSM Classic

The PGA Tour is heading to the south and playing at Sea Island – Seaside Course. Two members of Team Troon Matt Kuchar and Alex Noren will be in the field competing this week. Play well Matt and Alex!

LPGA-CME Group Tour Championship at Tiburón Golf Club

The season ending finale of the LPGA TOUR is taking place once again at a stunning Troon facility in Tiburón Golf Club. The 2023 CME Group Tour Championship has a $7M purse (with $2M going to the winner) live TV coverage (Golf Channel on rounds 1-3 and NBC for the final round) and a stellar field of the top 60 LPGA tour players in the Race to CME Globe standings. Per LPGA.com: “The top two, Lilia Vu and Allisen Corpuz have a chance to break the $5 million mark for the season with a win.”

Tiburón  has hosted nine previous editions, and the competitors will play the Gold Course. Thank you and best of luck to General Manager Kevin DeDonato, Director of Agronomy Grayson Grainger and the entire team of relentlessly dedicated associates at Tiburón. We will be tuning into the action. Fun Fact: It’s pretty remarkable that for the second week in a row, Troon locales are hosting season ending point finales on two tours. Last week the PGA Champions Tour was at Phoenix Country Club for the Charles Schwab Cup Finale and this week the LPGA is at Tiburon for the CME Group Tour Championship!
