Team Troon On Tour: Fitzpatrick & Thomas Lead Team Troon At The Open

Team Troon - Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Thomas, Gary Woodland, Yealimi Noh, Matt Kuchar, Alex Noren, Bubba Watson & Colin Montgomerie

Open Championship

The 150th Open Championship returned to historic St. Andrews for the final major of 2022. Team Troon had two Team Troon players playing into the weekend in Matt Fitzpatrick and Justin Thomas. Matt Fitzpatrick ended up as low Team Troon member with a Top 25 finish and four round total of -9. Justin Thomas would finish at -2 for a T53 finish. Matt’s second round 66 combined with his Thursday and Friday pairing with Tiger Woods would get Matt and his all Troon golf bag plenty of television time during the early rounds (more on his golf bag below). Team Troon results at the Open Championship is as follows:

  • T21 Matt Fitzpatrick = 72-66-69-72 = -9
  • T53 Justin Thomas = 72-70-72-70= -2

PGA TOUR – Barracuda Championship

Alex Noren was an alternate for the Open Championship…and on Tuesday of tournament week made the decision to fly the United States to compete in the Barracuda Championship. His decision would bode well as he nearly won! He came in second in the event that features a Stableford scoring system with 42 points (one shy of winner Chez Reavie). Not only racking up some miles along the way but also racking up some valuable Fed Ex Points. Good playing Alex.

  • 2nd Alex Noren 4-12-12-14 = +42

LPGA Tour

Yealimi Noh teamed up with A Lim Kim for the Dow Great Lakes Invitational in Midland Michigan. This event features a unique two player team format. Team Noh/Kim would play well, finish at -16 and grab a Top 10 Finish. Congrats Yealimi!

  • T10: Yealimi Noh: 69-62-69-64 = 264 -16.

Fans who donate to the WHO Foundation between July 1st and July 31st via the Troon website or by scanning the QR Code on Fitzpatrick’s golf bag used at the 150th Open Championship, will be entered to win a prize package that includes Matt Fitzpatrick’s Ukraine-themed, blue and yellow golf bag used at the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews, plus a $500 golf credit in the Troon International App and more. In addition to Troon social media efforts (and Troon global press release – CLICK HERE to view), Matt pushed this tweet out to his 150K Twitter followers sharing the fundraising effort, tagging @Troon, tagging @WhoFoundation and including the link to the initiative on Troon.com. THANK YOU MATT!

Also WHO Foundation Retweeted it to their followers (snip below) and included a nice @Troon thank you on their next tweet.
