Team Troon On Tour: Kuchar at John Deere

Team Troon - Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Thomas, Gary Woodland, Yealimi Noh, Matt Kuchar, Alex Noren, Bubba Watson, Cheyenne Woods & Colin Montgomerie

PGA TOUR- John Deere Classic

This past week the PGA TOUR was in the Mid West for the John Deere Classic. Matt Kuchar was the solo Team Troon in the field and one of his shots even made it to an ESPN highlights (his two hop and roll chip in on 18).

He also went bogey free his second round to build his momentum into the weekend to a four round -1 total.

  • 67 Matt Kuchar: 69-69-73-72 = 283/ -1

LPGA Tour- Women’s US Open

While we did not have a Team Troon player in the field…congrats is in order to both the champion in Allisen Corpuz and the amazing host venue in Pebble Beach Golf Links. It was truly a remarkable event that captured the eyes of the golf world….including President Obama (more on that later)

COMING UP

Genesis Scottish Open

Team Troon travels overseas this week to compete in the Genesis Scottish Open. This week is particularly notable for Team Troon as it was Alex Noren who took home the trophy back in 2016. This win marked his 5th win after the impressive score of -14 for the four rounds. It was also back in 1999, Team Troon member Colin Montgomerie (who now on the PGA Champions Tour) won the event.

Four members of Team Troon are competing: Gary Woodland, Justin Thomas, Matt Fitzpatrick and Alex Noren.

LPGA-Dana Open

Coming off US Open week at Pebble Beach, the LPGA TOUR is heading to Ohio to play at Highland Meadows Golf Club. Look for Yealimi Noh to go low this week.

PGA TOUR Champions-Kaulig

After a couple weeks off, the Champions Tour is back at it and in Ohio. Colin Montgomerie is in the field and going into this week he is ranked within the Top 20 in Schwab Cup points.

From the week Prior…

PGA TOUR- Rocket Mortgage Classic

Alex Noren was top Team Troon player this week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club. Noren had a great week going bogey free his second and fourth round and while only carding two bogeys. Fun fact about the venue, Detroit Golf Club is a ClubUp client!

  • T9 Alex Noren 68-68-67-67 = 270/ -18

PGA TOUR Champions – US Senior Open

The Champions had their US Senior Open that week and Team Troon member Colin Montgomerie continued his stellar play to earn a Top 25 finish.

  •  T23 Colin Montgomerie: 72-74-71-74 = 291 / +7

Shareable

Following one of our two acquisition announcements last week, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth took to their millions of followers for some Twitter banter around the Troon/Invited Announcement.

A First @Troon did a Quote Tweet with a fun photo of JT and Jordan together at Kapalua for the recent Sentry.

Next Jordan did a RT and said IN (to his 2M followers)

Justin Thomas did a reply back to Jordan tagging Troon to his 711K Followers. It was certainly a cool fun banter/exchange. Thank you JT and Jordan.

During the PGA Champions Tour “Off Week”, Colin Montgomerie retreated to Scottsdale and stayed at Troon-managed “The Rocks” and dropped this fun Instagram post (tagging The Rocks in the location) to his 27K+ Instagram followers. Thank you Colin for sharing your day with us!

While not Team Troon per say, this was certainly in the “shareable” realm: Following Allisen Corpuz’s Women’s US Open victory, President Obama took to Twitter to congratulate Allisen and mentioned teeing it up at a Troon locale on Oahu together in Kapolei Golf Club (to his 3.2M Followers) Kapolei Golf Club is a favorite of President Obama’s and Kapolei, Oahu is where Allisen was born/raised. Really cool.

Have a great week and GO TEAM TROON!
