Team Troon On Tour: Kuchar, Noren & Woodland With Strong Finishes At Silverado

Team Troon - Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Thomas, Gary Woodland, Yealimi Noh, Matt Kuchar, Alex Noren, Bubba Watson, Cheyenne Woods & Colin Montgomerie

PGA TOUR – Fortinet Championship
First off, congratulations is in order to the entire Silverado Resort and Spa team on hosting an amazing Fortinet Championships. The 2022 edition marked the seventh playing of the event on the Troon-managed North Course at Silverado. Team Troon had three players in the field and all three played well. Low Team Troon member was Matt Kuchar, who shot a total of -9 (and was on the first page of the leaderboard for the majority of the event. Followed by Alex Noren who shot -6.  Gary Woodland who finished at -1. The 2022 Fortinet Championship marked the first time Alex Noren and Gary Woodland competed at Silverado. What was not a “first” was the winner of the event. The defending champion, Max Homa chipped in on the 72nd hole to win in dramatic fashion and successfully defend his Fortinet Championship title. Complete Team Troon results are as follows:

  • T12 Matt Kuchar: 68-68-70-73 = 279 / -9
  • T36 Alex Noren: 72-68-71-71 = 282 / -6
  • T64 Gary Woodland: 70-71-73-73 = 287 / -1

Congrats to all three Team Troon members and congrats again to the Silverado Resort and Spa team, on a great event!

DP World Tour – DS Automobiles Italian Open
There was also high drama last week at the DS Automobiles Italian Open held at Marco Simone GC in Rome, Italy. A course that will be the host venue for next year’s Ryder Cup. Team Troon Member Matt Fitzpatrick would at one point (after three rounds) be in the lead, one shot ahead of Troon investor and supporter in Rory McIlroy. It was starting to look like a duel of Troon supporters going into day four. However, Robert MacIntyre would come from behind and shoot a final round 64 to force a playoff with Matt Fitzpatrick (who shot a 67 that included an eagle and three birdies). MacIntyre would ultimately birdie the first playoff hole to take the victory, but Matt played well all week. As did Rory who finished one shot shy of the playoff. Congrats to both for your 2nd and 4th place finishes and know that the World of Troon was pulling for you both.

  • 2nd Matt Fitzpatrick: 65-69-69-67 = 270 / -14

LPGA Tour

The LPGA Tour was in Portland Oregon for the AmazingCre Portland Classic at Columbia Edgewater Country Club. Yealimi Noh was in the field and shot a four round total of -4 to finish T36. Congrats Yealimi on the solid week!

  • T36 Yealimi Noh: 72-68-72-71 = 283 / -5

Shareable

As you may have seen, there was a lot of social mojo being shared from both @Troon and @SilveradoResort  last week around the Fortinet Championship. Team Troon members Gary Woodland and Alex Noren also took to social to share their excitement of being in Napa and playing Silverado.

Alex Noren shared this Instagram post (and a Insta Story) to his 100K followers prior to teeing it up at Silverado (and tagged both @SilveradoResort and @Troon along the way)

Gary Woodland sent this Tweet to his 118K followers on Twitter before teeing it up last week (also tagging the host venue in @SilveradoResort and @Troon)

Thank you both for your great support of Silverado and Troon last week.

Have a great week and Go Team Troon!
