Team Troon on Tour: Thomas and Fitzpatrick at Ryder Cup. The next LPGA Tour stop: Seaview
The worldwide eyes of golf were on the Ryder Cup this week/weekend with Team Europe bringing the Cup to take on the US team that boasted a number of top 10 players in the World Golf Rankings. Team Troon had two players competing in the Ryder Cup. One on each respective Team: Matt Fitzpatrick and Justin Thomas. Both players were appearing in their second Ryder Cup appearance. Of the two, Justin Thomas was on the winning side of the proverbial coin with Team USA taking the 11-5 lead into Sunday Singles play and finishing with a historic total of 19-9 (to clinch the largest margin of victory in the modern history of the event). Thomas would finish the Ryder Cup with a record of 2-1-1 and would assert himself as an emotional leader of Team USA.
Congrats to Justin Thomas and Team USA.

Also congrats to Matt Fitzpatrick on making his second Ryder Cup team. Just making it to this Team of 12 players is quite an honor.

The LPGA Tour is headed to Seaview this week!
The annual LPGA stop at the Troon-managed Seaview in Galloway New Jersey continues its tradition of hosting best LPGA players in the world for this week’s LPGA Shoprite Classic. Last year Mel Reid took home her first LPGA victory on the Bay Course at Seaview. This year the event promises to be even more historic as NBC Sports will utilize an all-women broadcast team to call the event October 1-3 on GOLF Channel…marking the first-ever all-women golf broadcast team in U.S. television history. It is going to be an amazing week. Good luck to the entirety of the Seaview team!

While not exactly Team Troon related, congrats to the entire team at Mystic Creek Golf Club on hosting the LPGA Symetra Tour event in the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout. Kum-Kang Park took home the title after posting a three round total of -5 that included a dramatic eagle on the last to capture the title. Congrats to the entire team at Mystic Creek Golf Club.

Also “event related” was last week’s announcement that the PGA Champions Tour’s Chubb Classic will be coming back to Tiburón Golf Club at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida, in February 2022. The defending champion is Team USA Ryder Cup champion Steve Stricker (who hung on to win by a stroke over Robert Karlsson and Alex Cejka). The Team at Tiburón will be busy, as they will host all three of Naples’ professional tour events within four months: the aforementioned Chubb Classic in February, plus the LPGA Tour’s CME Group Tour Championship (Nov. 15-21) and the PGA Tour’s QBE Shootout (Dec 8-12). Wow!
