Team Troon on Tour: Top 10s by Woodland & Thomas at Colonial

Results From Last Week

It was great to see live golf back on the PGATOUR last week with the Charles Schwab Challenge taking place (with modifications) at Colonial. Equally great was the fact that this showed high level competitive golf can be put on successfully….again minus fans, with physical distancing, etc. We are sure that the eyes of many other sports were probably tuning in (like us golf fans) to see how it would be executed. Interesting item of note: all players and caddies went into the event getting tested for COVID-19 (all were negative) and event moved forward with a bit different “look” (and sound…or lack thereof)…even finishing with playoff drama.

Congrats to four members of Team Troon that played well last week. Gary Woodland and Justin Thomas led Team Troon being on the leaderboard throughout the tournament. Thinks just didn’t “click” for them in the fourth round with Gary falling just three shots shy of the Berger/Morikawa playoff (and Justin was just four shy). Ultimately, they both would finish in the Top 10, for their first event in three months. Below are all of Team Troon scores/finished for the CS Challenge:

  • 9th Gary Woodland: -12
  • T10 Justin Thomas: -11
  • T32 Matthew Fitzpatrick: -6
  • T60 Alex Noren: +1

Coming Up

PGATOUR

The rescheduled RBC Heritage is up next this week (also minus fans) at Harbor Town. Like last week, the field is strong and Team Troon will be well represented with 5 of our 6 PGATOUR Players competing, including:

  • Matt Fitzpatrick
  • Justin Thomas
  • Matt Kuchar
  • Gary Woodland
  • Alex Noren

LPGA

With the delayed start of the LPGA Tour, many tour professionals are taking to the regional tours. As you saw in last week Cheyenne Woods played well at the recent Cactus Tour event at Troon North. She is in Florida now and is getting ready to tee it up in the Eggsland Best Tour this week at Orange Tree CC in Orlando.

Shareable

As chronicled last week we had a number of great social/webinar activations that occurred with Team Troon during the pandemic Tour shutdown. One of which was a cool Member Q&A Executed by Julia Kelly with World #4 Justin Thomas. The team dropped the audio of this cool Q&A on our The Turn Podcast. Questions came from Troon Privé Members, Troon Rewards Members and Cardholders.

Tune into it at: https://www.troon.com/the-turn-podcast-episode-27/

Julia did a great job and it’s a truly cool “listen!”

Go Team Troon!
