Troon Challenge 2010 Builds Momentum After Events In Florida And California
The Florida regional qualifier for the 2010 Troon Challenge took place last weekend at Harmony Golf Preserve in Harmony Fla., along with the first California qualifier at Diablo Grande Golf & Country Club in Patterson, Calif.
The event at Harmony drew 31 teams competing for a chance to play in the finals at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. First place in the Gross Division was Diego Besga and Peter Belmore, shooting a 66 while Page Lewis and Dave Fischer took first place in the Net Division with their score of 64.
Diablo Grande champions included Gross Division winners Derek Winters and Wyatt Nascke who shot 70 and Net Division winners Ryan Rojas and Kit Samples who shot a 62.
With just a handful of events down, there are plenty of opportunities remaining to compete in the Troon Challenge at several of the finest courses in the country. Upcoming events include the regional qualifier at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz. on May 23, as well as a qualifier at Indian Wells Golf Resort in Indian Wells, Calif. held on the same day.
